Snow Sculpting ClassFor children of all ages, at 10:00 am on Saturday December 17th, James Machtan from New Visions Gallery will be on hand to give a demonstration on techniques for snow sculpturing. There is no cost and a special snow sculpturing area will be provided along with tools so you can make your own unique sculpture. For the more seasoned sculpture teams, an entry form is available on line detailing the rules for the snow sculpture contest. All team entries should be submitted by December 12th. The cost is $40 per team with two awards being given. Judging for the People's Choice will be by votes made the general public viewing the sculptures during the week following the sculpture day. This category, along with the Rotary Club Committee’s Choice, will be awarded on Thursday December 22nd. Each award winning team will receive a special ribbon and a $50 prize. 

Teams will receive 4ft by 6ft by 6ft tall block of snow. Final Sculpture must not exceed 8ft by 8ft by 10ft tall box.
Rules
.Each team will consist of 2 to 4 members with at least one member being 18 years of age or older.
.Each team must appoint a captain that will attend pre-contest meeting to discuss rules of snow sculpture competition. Sculptures must be completed by 6:00pm on the day of the event.
.No materials other than snow, ice or water may be used to construct sculpture. Dyes, paints or any other colorant is not allowed.
.Teams will provide their own snow removal tools at their own risk and liability. No power tools are permitted.
.Sculptures must be of original conception by the team and cannot include trademarked imagery.
.Submitting sketches or machetes of the intended sculptures are encouraged.
.A $40 entry fee is required from each team to participate. Checks should be made out to Rotary Club and mailed to 1210 W 8th Street, Marshfield WI 54449 and submitted by December 12, 2012.
Long sleeve t-shirts will be provided to all participating artists.
Two $50 awards will be given. People’s Choice to the team receiving the most amount of votes by the Winter Wonderland Visitors and Committee’s Choice to be determined by Marshfield Rotary members.

The Rotary Winter Wonderland Snow Sculpture Contest is meant to be enjoyed by the participants as well as the Winter Wonderland audience. Our Hope is that this contest will be a creative, fun-loving atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.

2010 The Peoples Choice Winner (voted on by visitors to Winter Wonderland this past week) was Staab Construction with their entry of a Snow Castle.
